Film Schedules Fifth Annual WFVF

Thursday Oct 30:

2 pm: Shakedown: kathryn Gilday's documentary about FISA...our local forest industry in crisis featuring Ish Theilheimer, Kathy Trebinski and other local residents. A TVO production.

3 pm: Rebirth of a Nation: 28 minute documentary about the Golden Lake First Nation landclaim produced for Mid-Canada television by Joanne Zomers.

3:45: Best Damn Fiddler from Calabogie to Kaladar: a NFB award winning film written by Joan Finnegan and starring a very young Margot Kidder. A Canadian classic!!

5 pm: Pioneers of the Wilderness: a look at the first settlers of the Wilno area...beautifully photographed and produced by Derek Bareki for Omni Television.
6 p.m: Dine for 9.99 Dinner break.
7 pm: Yes, the Errol Starr Day by Edwin Echevarry:
7:30: Chanson Trieste and Dances of Vital Development by Edwin Echevarry
7:45: Hemp by Errol Francis

8:30 pm: Songwriter's Showcase with hosts Deedee and Tanya. Performers welcome.

Friday Oct 31:

2 pm: Straight Arrow: a documentary about Aviation pioneer Janusz Zurakowski.
2:30 : Kashuby Canada: a film by Henrik Bartul about the settlement of the Wilno area.
3:30: Pioneers of the Wilderness: a look at the settlement of the Wilno area.
4:30: A selection of short films about the area and the artists who settled here.

7 pm: Backwoods Gourmet: a 22 minute pilot for television produced by Lee Lafont and Barry Goldie.

9 pm: Hallowe'en Party with Mumbo Jumbo Voodoo Combo at the Wilno Tavern.


Saturday Nov 1:

2 pm: Shakedown; a documentary about the forest industry in this area.

3 pm Best Damn Fiddler from Calabogie to Kaladar:

4 pm: Premiere of "Griefwalker' NFB documentary about Stephen Jenkinson.

5 pm: Tapas Reception and Q&A with Stephen Jenkinson. (sponsored by Heritage Brewing & Black Prince Winery)

6-8 pm: 100 Mile Harvest Dinner in the cafe and gallery.

8-10:30 pm: Performance by Ian Tamblyn. Tickets for Griefwalker screening, reception, dinner and music are 35.00 per person. Advance reservations Call 613-756-9515. Seating limited to 40 people.


Sunday Nov 2:
